There I stood...Alone in an empty apartment. My girlfriend had just left me, and I was dealing with the most depressing time of my life.

I had to put my dreams on the back burner, and go get another job in accounting. I was forced to empty my savings to cover the stack of bills on my desk. I uttered the words, "This can't be happening" hundreds of times in my head as I prepared for another miserable tax season. But for some reason, I couldn't help but wonder...

In just a quick second, I'll explain how this miserable experience actually ended up working in my favor. But first, let me finish the story..

I walked into my new office on that cold, dark January morning. Unfortunately, this job wasn't much different from the last one. You see, there was one major difference between my new job as a tax accountant...

We were given a 30 minute lunch break.

Unfortunately, there was't a gym within 5 miles of my office. Even if there was, I wouldn't have had time to walk there, change, workout, and then get back to my desk within a half hour time frame.

Core Mistake #1 - You're Actually NOT Targeting Your Abdominals

Your abdominals are made up of 3 subsidiary muscle groups:

  • Rectus Abdominis (upper abdominals)
  • Obliques (side walls of the abdominals)
  • Transversus Abdomins (lower abdominals)

If you want to get a toned midsection, then you have to activate all three regions of your core. If you neglect just one of these areas, you'll never get chiseled six pack abs.

You wouldn't expect to get a toned upper body by just training your arms, right? You would have to also train your shoulders, chest, and back. Well, this same approach needs to be incorporated into your abdominal routine.

In fact, did you know that crunches actually work? The problem is that crunches only target your upper abdominals. If you neglect the other 67% of your core, it doesn't matter how many crunches you do because you'll never get toned six pack abs.
